The "Texas Fight Club" Guards

Mentally disabled students were forced to be part of brutal "fight club."

Dec. 14, 2009 — -- The shocking cell phone videos of Texas state school employees forcing mentally disabled residents to take part in a brutal a "fight club" exposed glaring problems in a statewide system charged with the care of the mentally disabled.

On the videos, night-shift employees of a Corpus Christi, Texas state school could be seen and heard laughing and prodding the terrified residents to fight one another.

Six employees were fired after the videos surfaced and charged on felony counts of causing injury to disabled persons. Three of the former employees were found guilty and sentenced to prison, while the others are still awaiting trial.
