Beyonce, Jay-Z Reportedly Expecting First Child
US Weekly reports hip hop super couple are in first trimester of pregnancy.
Oct. 20, 2010 — -- Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z better make room for a cradle in their home of hip hop royalty as the couple is expecting its first child, Us Weekly reported today.
Beyonce, 29, reportedly wanted to wait to have children and was surprised, but delighted by the news.
"B was shocked," a source close to the singer told Us Weekly. "She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet."
Another source told Us the singer sees the baby as "a gift from God and she's so happy."
Rebecca Bienstock, a reporter for Us Weekly, told ABC News Beyonce is in her first trimester and the couple is "very, very excited" about the pregnancy. Jay-Z, 40, has reportedly wanted kids for some time.
Celebrity friends have already been offering their well wishes, Bienstock said.
Beyonce's sister, Solange, told Us Weekly, "She's got the most beautiful heart... She'll be a great mom."
Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, were married in a secret ceremony in New York in 2008.
A call to Beyonce's rep by ABC News wasn't immediately returned.
