-- When Britney Spears was 20 years old, she was arguably on top of the world. But as her 20s progressed, things went downhill, which is why she's now remembering that time as "horrible."
Appearing on the British TV show "Lorraine", the 34-year-old singer told interviewer Dan Wootton, “I like my 30s way more than my 20s. [My] 20s were horrible. [Being] in my teens was fun, but I like 30s, 30s is great. You know who you really are.”
Spears suffered through two divorces in her 20s -- one from childhood friend Jason Alexander -- whom she married on a whim in Vegas, only to have the union annulled 55 hours later -- and the other from Kevin Federline, the mother of her two children. Also in those years, Spears suffered an admitted breakdown and was treated at various care facilities. She later lost physical custody of her two sons and was put under a conservatorship. To date, her father remains in charge of her affairs.
However, recent years have been kinder to Spears, who has a lucrative residency in Las Vegas.
Along with being in a better place, Spears admitted she's single and fine with it.
This comes after she split from fiance Jason Trawick in 2013 and then split from Charlie Ebersol in 2015.
"I’m in a really good place right now so I think, I’m just, I’m loving and learning myself every day and learning who I am," Spears said. "So it’s just, it’s awakening, it’s cool. ... It’s OK to be single. Yeah, it totally is.”
