— -- The man who portrayed R2-D2 in the "Star Wars" franchise, Kenny Baker, died Saturday. The 3-foot 8-inch actor was 81.

The actor's agent, Johnny Mans, told ABC News that Baker died after a "long illness" and was found by his nephew Drew Myerscough inside his home, located in England.

"Kenny was truly a great friend, one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet and a fabulous and talented performer," Mans said in a statement. "He was a one-off. There will never be another Kenny Baker."
