So scary hearing what happened to @KimKardashian in Paris ????— Teresa Giudice (@Teresa_Giudice) October 3, 2016
Kardashian West was "badly shaken but physically unharmed," her spokesperson told ABC News. In the brazen crime, two individuals dressed as police officers forced their way into her mansion overnight and later ran off with about $10 million worth of jewelry.
As some stars expressed sympathy over what happened, others took to defending the reality star against people trying to make light of her situation.
People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend.Be nice or shut up— James Corden (@JKCorden) October 3, 2016
I think I have a pretty good handle on what's funny.
Kim Kardashian being held captive & robbed at gunpoint is not. Stop it with the jokes.— Jonathan Torrens (@TorrensJonathan) October 3, 2016
Kardashian West's longtime friend Chrissy Teigen was especially vocal on Twitter, reminding her followers that "some s*** just isn't funny. I see you trying, but it isn't."
Teigen then responded to a follower who wrote, "No one likes robbery at gunpoint. Then again should people feel sorry for someone who owns millions of $ in jewelry alone?"
No one is begging you for sympathy. I know the game plan is to naturally hate celebrities https://t.co/EMHRslQKu6— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) October 3, 2016
Please do not think that I think celebrities are special snowflakes. I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) October 3, 2016
