'Dancing With the Stars' Host Tom Bergeron's Mother Died Four Months After Father Passed Away
The host's mother passed away only four months after his father died.
— -- "Dancing With the Stars" host Tom Bergeron revealed Saturday that his mother, Catherine, had passed away only four months after his father, Raymond, died.
Bergeron said Friday that he was by his dying mother's side. "4 months ago my Mom lost the love of her life. Now we've gathered at her bedside. They never did like being apart," he tweeted.
One day later he announced on Twitter that she had died by posting a photo of himself with both his parents. "Four months apart. Together forever. #RIPMom," he said.
Bergeron, 60, said that due to his mother's funeral services he will miss Tuesday's episode of "Good Morning America" to recap the previous evening's "Dancing With the Stars," adding that he'll return March 21.
When his father passed away in October, Bergeron missed an episode of "Dancing With the Stars" to be with his ailing father.
"He's given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor," he tweeted at the time.
The host also addressed his fans after their outpouring of condolences.
"Thank you so much for your words of support & sympathy," he tweeted Sunday.
