— -- Actress Emily Blunt is starring in the upcoming musical film, “Into the Woods,” and she confessed that’s she was embarrassed to watch herself singing in the production.
“Oh, my God! It’s hideous watching it,” Blunt said in an interview with “Good Morning America” co-anchor Amy Robach.
The “Edge of Tomorrow” star said she'd had voice lessons and had to do “the craziest vocal exercises.”
“They made me go ‘goo goo, ga ga' in a scale,” she said, laughing. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God. If someone was filming this.’”
The film -- an adaptation of an award-winning Broadway musical of the same name -- combines the plots of several classic fairy tales. Blunt, 31, plays the baker’s wife -- a woman who is desperate to have a child after a witch’s spell leaves her infertile.
Blunt herself was pregnant at the time she was filming. The actress, who is married to “The Office” star, John Krasinski, gave birth to their daughter, Hazel, in February.
“It’s the ultimate irony playing this barren woman and I was, like, just getting bigger and bigger throughout the course of the film,” she told Robach.
Her character ultimately succeeds in getting pregnant, but until that time, she said, producers found ways to disguise her pregnancy.
“They kind of hid me behind trees and objects, or [co-star] James Corden, or a cow, you know?” she said. “The objects got bigger as I got bigger.”
"Into the Woods" opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
