April 7, 2014— -- Asked if shooting of Star Wars: Episode VII will begin next month, Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn answered, "We're actually shooting some of it now."

The project is "all about the screenplay," Horn said in an interview conducted at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles.

When asked if the screenplay was "not quite there yet," Horn said, "It actually is, now."

The screenplay was written by director J.J. Abrams and Episode V and Episode VI writer Lawrence Kasdan, following a previous draft by "Toy Story 3" writer Michael Arndt.

Horn said the film will pick up where Episode VI left off, and, "where VI left off is 35 years ago by the time this is released” in December 2015.

Horn wouldn't reveal the names of the cast members, but he said, "We have a lot of them [in place]."
