'Game of Thrones' Actress Opens Up About Character's New Fiance
Spoiler Alert: "When I got the script, I was shocked to my core," she said.
— -- Who did Sansa Stark piss off in a previous life?
Warning: Spoiler Alert!
On Sunday night's "Game of Thrones," we found out Stark's new fiance -- Ramsay Bolton, the man who is beyond twisted, maybe more so than her ex-fiance King Joffrey.
And it was Petyr Baelish, aka Littlefinger, and someone she thinks is her friend, who promised Stark to Bolton.
"She’s at the hands of another monster," the actress who plays Sansa, Sophie Turner, told the New York Times.
"Lucky me," Turner, 19, joked. "She had Joffrey and then Joffrey died off, so they were like, 'We’ll give her the second best. We’ll give her Ramsay.' I don’t know. If anyone can deal with these kinds of people, it’s Sansa."
Turner went on to say her character's talent is knowing how to deal with "psychopaths."
"It’s like 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' -- Sansa the Monster Whisperer. But obviously it was heartbreaking. When I got the script, I was shocked to my core. Because I was just like, is this really going to happen for her again? It’s really quite devastating," she added. "It is 'Game of Thrones,' but when you had the moment at the end of Season 4 you think, 'Oh her life is going to get better. She’s going to take matters into her own hands and she’s gonna be this powerful woman and liberate people and manipulate people.' And then it was just kind of like, 'Oh.'"
No matter what, Turner said she hopes her character won't let her new fiance's personality rub off on her.
"She’s not going to turn into a psychopath, too," she added.
