Harry Styles Signs Solo Record Deal
The singer has said previously that One Direction will still stay together.
— -- Looks like One Direction's Harry Styles is going solo.
Billboard reports that Styles has signed a solo deal with One Direction's label, Columbia Records.
No terms of the deal, or timeline for the album, have been announced.
Styles, 22, is the second One Direction singer to go solo following Zayn Malik, who quit the band last year.
Last August, One Direction member Niall Horan said the group would be taking a hiatus.
"Ok so Lots of rumours going round," he tweeted. "We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year."
"Don't worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve!" he added. "Can't wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tour continues! Love you all xx."
Styles also has been pursing acting opportunities. He's currently working on director Christopher Nolan's World War II movie "Dunkirk," which is scheduled for release next year.
ABC News reached out to Styles for comment, but has not heard back yet.
