'The Hills' stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag expecting first baby

— -- "The Hills" stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are expecting their first baby.

The couple spoke to US Weekly for this week's cover and Pratt said his wife of eight years "was literally glowing" the morning she broke the big news.

Montag, 30, is due in October and her husband adds that she "has wanted to be a mom since the day I met her."

The duo became famous on the reality-TV show that ran from 2006 to 2010.

Montag said they were thinking about having a baby three years ago, but "Spencer was a little hesitant. Then one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like 'Celebrity Big Brother' in the U.K., which I did not want to be pregnant for. I’m actually really thankful we waited."

She continued, "I’ve been with the love of my life for 10 years, and now we’re starting our own family."

Pratt, 33, and his wife don't yet know the gender of the baby but "I’m hoping for a boy," Montag said.

"I’d love to have a son and for the Pratt name to continue," she added.

Montag joins fellow "Hills" stars Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad, who are also expecting their first kids.
