Houston Texans' Star J.J. Watt Surprises 12-Year-Old National Anthem Singer

Nicholas Connors had no idea who was watching him sing his heart out.

— -- Nicholas Connors thought singing the National Anthem at the Houston Rockets playoff game Tuesday night would be the highlight of his young life.

But little did the 12-year-old know that his night was going to get a whole lot better when Houston Texans’ star J.J. Watts rushed the court to surprise him.

Watts was in the stands to watch the Rockets take on the Dallas Mavericks when he was so impressed by Nicholas’s voice that he crossed the court to give him a handshake.

Nicholas did not see whose hand it was at first, but upon realizing it was Watts’ let out a an expression of shock before the two gave each other a quick hug.

“I'm walking off [and] of course my stomach is in knots, you know, trying to force it out and I turned around,” Nicholas said later. “It felt like I was in heaven.”

“It’s like, that’s J.J. Watt. Come on. That’s J.J. Watt,” he said.

Watt was so impressed by Nicholas that he also tweeted about him after the game.
