— -- Lance Bass didn't do much to clear up the rumors that his former band, 'NSYNC, will reunite at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

While discussing the matter on his Sirius radio show, "Dirty Pop," Bass, 34, simply said, "You never know!"

Bass also suggested that perhaps the rumor began after he Instagrammed a photo of himself at former bandmate Justin Timberlake's concert with fellow 'NSYNCers Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick. (J.C. Chasez missed the show because of a work obligation in California.)

Justin Timberlake Set to Perform at MTV Video Music Awards

"Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we're going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly," he said. "Joey [Fatone], Chris [Kirkpatrick] and myself went to go see Justin's last show with Jay-Z at the stadium last Friday... I think that's what started the rumor that there's going to be this big reunion."

Still, Bass said he was flattered by all the attention the possible reunion has been getting.

"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media [and] how many people are supporting 'NSYNC. It's so nice to see because when we ended things [over] 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter," he said. "It's so cute to see how many people are supporting [us], and 'NSYNC was even trending."

And for what it's worth, Bass would also welcome the opportunity to perform with his bandmates again. "That would be an amazing, amazing time," he said.
