May 2, 2014 — -- Jamie Foxx is an Oscar winner. If you've seen "Ray," the man can totally transform on screen.

In fact, Foxx, 46, told Kelly Ripa on "Live with Kelly and Michael" today that he hopes to someday portray his friend Mike Tyson in a movie.

"I got a chance to hang out with Mike when Mike was at his height, and I watched Mike Tyson go from his height to where he is now, and I talked to Mike about doing his story," the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" star told Ripa. "And I said, ‘Mike, how do you feel? [Tyson said] ‘I’m happy. God bless Allah, my brother.'"

Foxx said he didn't understand.

"I said, ‘Why are you happy? [Tyson said]‘I don't have any money. So I’m very happy. No one's trying to take anything from me,’" Foxx revealed.

That hit the actor hard.

"And it broke my heart when I heard him say that," Foxx added. "And I said, ‘What do you mean?’ [Tyson] says, ‘When I had money, and I was doing bad stuff too, but everybody was all over me.’ He said, ‘All I wanted to do is box and fall in love.’ So I think that story would be fantastic."
