— -- Fans of Miley Cyrus can hear her new song "Hands of Love" on the "Freeheld" trailer that went live Monday.

The 22-year-old singer teamed up with songwriter Linda Perry to produce the slow ballad for the "Freeheld" movie, which stars Ellen Page and Julianne Moore as Stacie Andree and Laurel Hester, a real-life lesbian couple who fought for LGBTQ benefits and equal rights.

Cyrus has been a huge supporter of LGBTQ equality. Page revealed to TIME magazine that Cyrus' recent activism made her the “perfect fit” for the song.

Cyrus also spoke to TIME about her involvement with the film’s soundtrack, explaining that entertainment is “an interactive way to get people to hear your message.”

"Freeheld" will be released in theaters on Oct. 2.
