— -- As a star on ABC's "Modern Family," Julie Bowen has had her picture taken countless times.

Therefore, the actress said that if she was ever to undergo plastic surgery, it would be noticed right away -- and that's reason enough to not go under the knife.

"I don’t know that I could stand that kind of [scrutiny]. I don't know that I'd feel comfortable with that," she told ABC News. "But never say never."

Bowen, 44, is instead focusing on keeping her skin in great shape, using Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair, for which she is a spokeswoman. It also fits neatly into her beauty routine, which she said needs to be kept basic, as she's juggling her career with raising her 7-year-old son and her 5-year-old twin boys.

"If I don’t have my feet on the ground the minute the alarm clock goes off, we’re already running late, and sometimes I hit snooze," she said with a laugh. "So in the morning, it's just a rinse, slap on the day cream, and get the sunscreen. I jam things in my bag and do things at the stoplight--no one's judging you!"

She's also learned to embrace her body, which she said has changed after two pregnancies. And despite the accidental insults her boys hurl at her ("My children ask me why the skin on my stomach is so 'melty,'" she recalled with a sigh), spending time at home with them remains one of her favorite things to do.

"I don’t try to soften the blow: It’s really hard and I make lots of mistakes," she admitted, "but my kids make me laugh and are so funny. I want to spend as much time with them as possible."
