Feb. 14, 2014 — -- Sometimes the schedule just doesn't favor love.

Today is obviously Valentine's Day. It's also the 2014 Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in New Orleans.

Nick Cannon is on a mission to win this year, which means he'll have to wine and dine wife Mariah Carey quickly before he heads out for the game.

"I'm trying to do a real big Valentine's morning and then hop on the plane and be there in time for the game," he told ABC News. "That's my game plan. I'll let you know how it works out."

He said he plans on getting the music icon "you know, some flowers, some candy, [maybe] some jewelry."

The one thing the actor, 33, won't do is cook breakfast in bed.

"That would be horrible, I'm the worst cook ever, maybe I'll order breakfast in bed," he said.

As for the game, Cannon said someone better watch out.

"Kevin Hart, it's on, I'm going all the way for that MVP," he added. "Kevin had the MVP three years in a row. He didn't deserve it last year, it's mine this year."

Ouch! The trash talk didn't stop there.

"He's only like two feet tall," he said, when asked if Hart is his biggest competition on Friday night. "I got a shooting coach, I'm in the gym, two-a-days, I'm ready!"

Two people who will definitely be rooting on Cannon tonight are daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, both 2. Cannon said they are both growing up so fast.

"My son is playing catch now and actually catching the ball and throwing it," he said. "That's exciting for a dad. Before you just throw the ball at him and it would just hit him."

Tune in to ESPN to catch the All-Star Celebrity Game at 7 p.m. EST tonight.
