Feb. 21, 2014 — -- Pink will be making a "special appearance" at the Oscars, the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.

And it looks like it's going to be an appearance during a crucial part of the annual awards show.

"We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time," said producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. "She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast."

A press release noted that along with winning three Grammy Awards, Pink was also featured in a 2013 movie "Thanks for Sharing," which starred Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The release didn't say if she would be performing or presenting.

The Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air on March 2 live on ABC.
