— -- Sorry ladies, "Twilight" hunk Robert Pattinson has been spending time with a new gal pal.

The brooding actor has been stepping out with British singer FKA Twigs, most recently in New York City's East Village.

Pattinson is as known for his work in the romantic vampire trilogy as he is for dating his "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart. The two split late last year and it seems he may be ready to move on. No word yet on if the two are an official item, but here are five things to know about his new lady friend.

1 - Similar Backgrounds

FKA (Formerly Known As) Twigs was born Tahliah Debrett Barnett in 1988 in Gloucestershire, England. Pattinson is just two years her senior, 28, and is also from England. Barnett's father is Jamaican and her mother is part English and Spanish.

She got her nickname Twigs from the way her joints crack, she told Interview magazine.

2 - She's an Acclaimed Musician

LP1 is FKA Twigs' debut studio album and was released just last month. Pitchfork Media gave the album an 8.8 out of 10 and Entertainment Weekly gave it an "A."

"After two EPs that earned her an ardent underground following among critics, club kids, and fashion-industry types, the sensibly named LP1 is both her first major aesthetic statement and a bid for pop stardom on her own terms," EW wrote about her album. "Twigs' vocal style and fashion sense -- her sounds may be minimalist, but her wardrobe choices are not -- have drawn a lot of comparisons to the late, great Aaliyah."

3 - She's More Than Just R&B

Twigs said that when she first put out music, she was pleased when fans didn't know what she looked like.

“They called it a new type of something, they couldn’t put a genre on it -- it was where indie and urban kind of meet in the middle. I thought that was quite exciting," she told Billboard magazine last month.

Then, someone leaked a pic of her face.

“I’m mixed-race, and what type of music do mixed-race girls make? Well, we all make R&B, in unison, obviously,” she said, joking. “So then it was like, ‘Twigs is an R&B singer.’ Then I did a short interview and said I was from the Midlands, where trip-hop is from. Then all of a sudden it’s like, ‘R&B/trip-hop singer.’”

4 - She's Been Told She's a Good Kisser

“I once said to a boy, ‘You’re a really good kisser,’ and he said, ‘You’re only as good as the person you’re kissing,’” she added in the Billboard interview. “I think it’s the same with the music. If someone [says], ‘Your music is really provocative,’ I’m only as provocative as the person that’s listening to it.”

5 - She Hasn't Found the One Yet

In an interview from August, she told the Guardian, "I'm only 26. I've had two or three serious relationships, I haven't been married, I haven't had that ultimate relationship where something clicks and I'm like, 'I get it now!' I'm still learning."
