— -- What started out as a kayaking trip on New York's scenic Hudson River is now turning into a desperate search after two people, including the daughter of legendary British musician Annie Lennox, fell into the water.
Tali Lennox and her boyfriend, Ian Jones, were in a kayak that capsized on Saturday, authorities said. The 22-year-old Lennox was rescued by a passing boat, but the 32-year-old Jones is still missing and an investigation is underway.
“We're still looking into all possibilities [that] alcohol may have played a role,” said John Watterson, captain of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
The couple's tandem kayak capsized on their trip along the Hudson River, and Lennox and Jones were reportedly not wearing life jackets. Once in the water, they were separated after fifteen minutes by the strong currents, authorities said, noting that more than 50 law enforcement officers have been searching that river ever since.
“We've had many teams out there,” Watterson said. “Our marine patrol, our dive teams, we've had helicopters in the air."
Jones, a photographer and model, and Lennox, a model-turned-artist, often posted photos of their life together on Instagram. Tali Lennox had often been seen on the red carpet supporting her mom.
Police said they don't suspect foul play.
