— -- Since Bruce Jenner’s revelation that he considers himself a woman, the former Olympian’s coming out has sparked an international conversation.

Thousands of people from around the world have shown their support for Jenner by posting pictures of their painted fingernails with the hashtag, #PaintYourNailsForBruce, prompted by Jenner’s exclusive interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer on Friday.

The hashtag pays homage to when Jenner told Sawyer that his goal is to “be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it actually chips off.”

"I just want to enjoy life as who I am,” Jenner said. “It is that simple."

Abbe Land, the CEO of the Trevor Project, told “Good Morning America” that “having someone like Bruce Jenner tell his story really puts a face [on the issue] and makes a lot of people want to talk about it.”

The Trevor Project’s website, which offers a host of resources for LGBTQ teens, says their viewership has seen a 40 percent boost in the wake of Jenner’s revealing he is transitioning to become a transgender woman.

Jenner’s journey has carried special resonance with the transgender community, transgender model Arisce Wanzer told ABC News, adding that Jenner’s declaration will change the world.

“It is huge,” Wanzer said. “It is going to change TV. It is going to change people's minds. It is going to change the fans’ minds, and everyone is going to have to open their minds.”

Oklahoma teens Arin Andrews and Katie Rain Hill, both transgender authors who wrote separate memoirs about their journey, echoed Wanzer’s sentiments, adding that Jenner’s interview has bolstered awareness and could help others going through a similar struggle.

“This is going to help people,” Hill said. “I know right now someone watched this special and it clicked, it suddenly made sense to them.”

Added Andrews: “When it comes down to it we all bleed red and we are all human and we are all trying to be happy.”
