Nov. 12 -- George Harrison was released from Staten Island University Hospital in New York over the weekend.

He is staying at a private home on Staten Island. Sources say the former Beatle is likely to be at the house of his doctor, Gil Lederman, who lives in the ritzy Todt Hill section of the borough.

Dr. Lederman did respond to e-mail and phone messages, but would talk only about his stereotatic radiosurgery procedure, and how it has helped many patients who suffer from various forms of cancer. Lederman would not confirm that Harrison is his patient, and said the hospital does not talk about individual patients without written permission from those patients.

Media Storm in Staten Island

According to Saturday's Staten Island Advance, a local daily newspaper in the borough, reporters from around the world have landed on Staten Island, trying to get any news they can about Harrison any way they can. The paper says Dr. Lederman arrived home Friday night to find a reporter asking his 10-year-old daughter for an update on Harrison's condition.

There have also been published reports that Ringo Starr visited Harrison at Staten Island University Hospital, but hospital sources could not confirm those reports.
