April 30 -- Finally, some positive words about Robert Downey Jr.

The troubled actor is being credited for bringing pop star Sting to Ally McBeal.

"I think that it was through Robert and Sting's friendship that it happened," said singer Vonda Shepard, who performs regularly on the Fox series. "I know that they're good friends."

Sting shows off his acting and singing skills on the episode, including a duet of "Every Breath You Take." Shepard says she brought the pair into the recording studio and produced their song for an Ally CD.

"They sang together, Robert and Sting, they sang simultaneously, we had a Plexiglas screen between them so they could look at each other and have that interaction; they were having fun," said Shepard.

Madonna's Quickie Sale

Madonna's adopted home of London is certainly giving her a warm welcome for her summer tour.

The British segment of her "Drowned World Tour" went on sale last week, and broke records for the fastest-selling concerts, with all 97,000 tickets gone in six hours. The first show sold out in 15 minutes.

Those trying to shop over the Internet didn't find an advantage. The ticket site received more than a million hits the first 10 minutes tickets were on sale.

Paul Simon and Friend

Paul Simon is bringing along a Beach Boy for his summer tour.

He's invited Brian Wilson to be his opening act for all of the tour stops. Fans hoping to see the two share microphones will be disappointed, though, as they are not expected to jam together onstage.

The tour kicks off in Los Angles on June 9, finishing up in New Jersey at the end of July.
