Gwyneth Paltrow Dates Ketchup Heir

Nov. 14, 2000 -- Stop the presses: Gwyneth Paltrow has a new romantic interest, and it’s not Ben Affleck.

Having just sworn “on [her] life” in the pages of Entertainment Weekly (which featured her draped over on-again, off-again beau Ben) that she and Affleck are no longer an item, the waifish Oscar winner has been seen with a new guy.

The New York tabs spotted Paltrow with 27-year-old Chris Heinz, son of Pennsylvania’s late Sen. John Heinz and heir to the great Heinz ketchup legacy.

The New York Post’s Page Six claims that Heinz flew the lovely Paltrow to London for their first date.

The Post placed the pair at the romantic New York restaurant Provence on Thursday, while the New York Daily News reports that Saturday, the new couple showed at the 40th anniversary party for the Pace Wildenstein Gallery at the sculpture garden at 590 Madison Ave. in New York.

Tabloids have recently run photos of Affleck with Jerry Seinfeld’s ex, Shoshanna Lonstein — not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Ben and Gwyneth, dubbed “Benneth” for their one-time inseparability, have a new movie out this Friday — Bounce, in which they play lovers. The movie was made after they officially broke up, and audiences will finally get a chance to judge the on-screen chemistry of the two “friends.”
