— -- Reality star Teresa Giudice is currently serving out her 15-month prison sentence, and last night, Bravo aired "The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" to show how Giudice is doing behind bars.

Here are 5 takeaways from the first episode of "Teresa Checks In."

1. Giudice is doing "much better" in the "low budget-spa" environment.

US Weekly reports that although she is behind bars, the environment is apparently not nearly as bad as the Giudice family originally thought it would be. Giudice's husband Joe compared the Danbury Federal Prison to a "low budget-spa," and revealed that the prison offers both yoga and spin classes, which Giudice takes full advantage of.

"She looks so relaxed. There's no more bags under her eyes," Giudice's 14-year-old daughter Gia said. "She's so positive. She's still the same Teresa, she just looks so much better."

2. Giudice is working on her relationship with her brother Joe Gorga.

In an interview with Gorga, the younger brother admitted that he tried to make amends with Giudice before she went to prison.

"Over the last couple months, we've been emailing back and forth, which is great," he said. "She's starting to realize that her brother truly loves her."

3. Giudice is keeping a diary while in prison and has plans to write a book when she gets out.

"She's telling Audriana that she's working, Gabriella and Milania too," Gia revealed. "It is true my mom is working. She is keeping a diary in there. She is going to write a book when she gets out, so she is working, but there's more to it than that."

4. Giudice is looking forward to Joe's "Magic Mike" body.

In a phone call with her husband, Giudice revealed that the prison had screened the movie "Magic Mike" for inmates, and noted that she was looking forward to Joe getting in shape while he is behind bars (Joe will start his 3.5 year sentence after Giudice is released).

5. Giudice still runs her household from prison.

The Giudice family was unanimous in agreeing that being behind bars has not stopped Giudice from being a mother to her four daughters.

Joe revealed that Giudice planned her daughter Gia's entire pre-dance party from prison, which included having flowers delivered and an appointment with her stylist to help Gia get ready for the formal dance.

In a sneak preview of the next episode of "Teresa Checks In," Giudice admits to Joe that she was "shaken down" in prison after the guards suspected her of illegally possessing a phone while in the prison.

According to People magazine, the reality star is set to be released on Dec. 23.
