Bindi and Robert Irwin share loving messages for their mother: 'You effortlessly carry on Dad's mission'
Bindi said her mom was "born with a purpose to change the world."
Bindi and Robert Irwin celebrated their mother Terri's 56th birthday over the weekend.
In a post featuring throwback images of himself with his mom, Robert, 16, wrote, "You have taught me so much over the years from tying my shoelaces to driving a car and how to feed a crocodile!"
He explained how much Terri Irwin's strength in leading the Australia Zoo during the COVID-19 pandemic has inspired him.
"In these last few months I have never been more proud to call you my mum leading our entire Australia Zoo team through this incredibly tough time," he wrote. "You effortlessly carry on Dad's mission."
"I can't imagine how proud he'd be of all you do for worldwide wildlife conservation but also that you are always there for Bindi and I to give us a hug when we need it most," he added.
Bindi Irwin also shared a loving tribute for her mother on her birthday, featuring a photo of them from her wedding day.
"You were born with a purpose to change the world," the 21-year-old wrote in a message to her mom. "You're my best friend and every day you show me what it means to be a woman warrior. I love you so much. Happy Birthday!"
Bindi Irwin's husband, Chandler Powell, also sent his well-wishes, calling Terri Irwin "one of the most extraordinary women in the world."
"Terri, your courage, leadership and thoughtfulness towards everyone is amazing," he wrote. "Can't wait to celebrate the first birthday with you as my 'Mum-in-law'!"
It appears the family spent time together in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to celebrate the birthday. Bindi Irwin described the crew's time away together as "incredibly peaceful."
"So much laughter, good food and your guitar playing!" she wrote in a comment on her brother's post.
