Donny and Marie Osmond end their long-running Vegas residency with emotional show
Donny and Marie Osmond ended their successful Las Vegas run.
After 11 successful years, Donny and Marie Osmond ended their Las Vegas residency.
The brother-and-sister duo, who were inducted into the Las Vegas Walk of Stars in October, completed their residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Saturday night with an emotional show featuring their greatest hits.
They closed out the emotion-filled night with a tearful performance of "May Tomorrow Be A Perfect Day."
"I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone who came to see the show during our 11-year run here in Vegas," Donny wrote on Instagram after the performance. "You've traveled from all over the world to see us perform. We feel and sincerely appreciate your loyal support."
The Osmonds performed in 1,730 shows together in Sin City. "I owe the biggest thank you of all to my dear sister who worked so hard, side-by-side with me all of these years," Donny shared.
Marie also posted a special tribute to her brother and their fans.
"Last night as ‘Donny and Marie’ we sang together again but this time was for the last time," she captioned her post. "I’m not losing him, we are, after all, still brother and sister and I’ll see him at Christmas."
"But ‘Donny and Marie’ will be different now," she continued. "Change is a good reminder that it’s the only thing in life that IS consistent. 😉 But this is one of those times when it isn’t easy to move forward without tears."
Marie said she and Donny "felt God’s hand in everything we did" and explained how the run affected her personal life.
"During this time I literally got my life back on track. I was a single mom with 8 kids and a lot of baggage - along with their broken hearts to heal," she wrote. "Performing with Donny provided stability for my children by not traveling and for the first time I felt peace. I could be a mom and still do what I loved with someone I trusted, my brother Donny."
She added a heartfelt message of gratitude for Donny.
"Thank you for being my big brother," she wrote. "I believe one of the main reasons Heavenly Father put us back to together was to have support for my children when my son Michael passed. We found strength from family and our new family of friends."
Donny previously spoke about his sister's growth over the decade in an interview with "GMA" earlier this year. "We have been through so much the last 11 years. Her particularly," he said. "And she gets on stage and she's such a professional. She does a great job. I'm gonna miss this a lot."
