Given the rise in "Friends" nostalgia thanks to the cast's recent reunion special, Mariah Carey showed off how she once tried to recreate the sitcom's most famous hairdo.

The "Hero" singer, 51, shared a photo to Instagram on Friday of herself holding a microphone stand onstage with a headband in her hair. She was wearing a black dress with a white stripe.

"#FBF A sad attempt at the Rachel hairdo," she captioned the post, referencing the haircut made famous by Jennifer Aniston's "Friends" character, Rachel Greene. Carey added the laughing-crying emoji and hashtagged "#friends" at the end.

It didn't take long for Aniston, 52, to see the throwback snap, jumping into the captions to give the five-time Grammy winner her seal of approval. "LOVE IT," she wrote alongside a fire emoji.

"Friends" aired for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2004, catapulting Aniston and the rest of her castmates -- Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer -- to instant fame.

"The Rachel" was created by hair stylist Chris McMillan and became a pop culture sensation, inspiring countless women to copy the hairdo and cementing it as one of the defining looks of the decade.
