2023 Oscars recap: Biggest wins, all the star-studded performances and more

See all the biggest moments from the 95th Academy Awards.

The 95th Academy Awards have come and gone.

On Hollywood's biggest night, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" reigned supreme, winning seven Oscars, the most of any film, including best picture, best director and best original screenplay. It was nominated for 11 Oscars heading into the ceremony.

The film with the next highest number of wins was "All Quiet on the Western Front," with four.

In the acting categories, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" star Michelle Yeoh made history as the first Asian woman to win best actress, while Brendan Fraser won best actor for "The Whale."

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis also won in the supporting actor and actress categories, respectively.

Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava perform Oscar-nominated song ‘Naatu Naatu’

Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava got the Oscars audience off their feet with their performance of “Naatu Naatu” from the film “RRR,” which is nominated for best original song.

In an interview last month with “Good Morning America,” “RRR” actor Ram Charan, who stars in the music video, said filming took place in the Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv, Ukraine, before the war began.

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' wins best costume design

Ruth Carter won the Academy Award for best costume design for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

"Thank you to the academy for recognizing the superhero that is a Black woman," Carter said in her acceptance speech. "She endures, she loves, she overcomes, she is every woman in this film, she is my mother."

Carter then revealed that her mother Mabel Carter died this past week and "became an ancestor" at 101.

"This is for my mother," Carter added.

Carter won her first Oscar in 2019 for the first "Black Panther" film. With this win, she became the first Black woman to win multiple Oscars in any category.

Other nominees in the category included "Babylon," "Elvis," "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris."

’The Whale’ wins best makeup and hairstyling

“The Whale” won the Academy Award for best makeup and hairstyling.

The other four films nominated in the category included "All Quiet on the Western Front,” "The Batman,” "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and "Elvis.”

Stephanie Hsu performs ‘This is a Life’ with David Byrne and Son Lux

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” star Stephanie Hsu joined Oscar-winning singer-songwriter David Byrne and experimental music trio Son Lux in a mesmerizing performance of the Oscar-nominated original song “This is a Life.”

Artist Mitski, who is nominated for the song, co-wrote “This is a Life” and performed it with Byrne and Son Lux on the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” soundtrack.

Ahead of their performance, Son Lux, which includes artists Ian Chang, Ryan Lott and Rafiq Bhatia, tweeted that they are “thrilled to perform ‘This is a Life’ from @allatoncemovie on @TheAcademy Oscars telecast.”

On the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” soundtrack, Hsu sings the song “Sucked Into A Bagel” with Son Lux.
