See who took home the biggest awards of the night.

April 25, 2021, 11:40 PM

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood were honored at the 2021 Oscars Sunday.

"Nomadland" took home the award for best picture, while the film's star, Frances McDormand, won the award for best actress. The film's director, Chloé Zhao, also made history when she won for best director.

In one of the most surprising moments of the night, Anthony Hopkins won the best actor award for his performance in Florian Zeller's "The Father."

Many expected late actor Chadwick Boseman to win a posthumous best actor Oscar for his performance in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom." He had racked up multiple awards prior to the Oscars.

Best supporting actor went to Daniel Kaluuya for "Judas and the Black Messiah" and Yuh-Jung Youn won best actress in a supporting role for Lee Isaac Chung's "Minari."

Another highlight of the night was the "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" makeup and hair team making Oscars history. Hair department head Mia Neal and celebrity hairstylist Jamika Wilson became the first Black women to be nominated and win for best makeup and hairstyling.

The 2021 Oscars show was originally scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 28, but was postponed last June due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
