Ryan Reynolds said there's one person who deserves all the credit for making his new movie "Free Guy" a major success: his wife.

Taking to his Instagram story on Monday, the Canadian actor heaped praise onto his wife of almost a decade and revealed just how much influence she had over the action-comedy.

"Free Guy wouldn't be the movie it is without @blakelively," gushed Reynolds while sharing a tender photo of the two. "She was essential in every part of the making of this film."

Saying the "Gossip Girl" alum helped transform the movie "creatively and emotionally," he also revealed how Lively was the mastermind of one of the movie's best-kept secrets, saying "the cameo everyone is talking about was entirely her idea."

Spoiler ahead!

The cameo of which Reynolds is referencing is the scene where his character, Guy, picks up a Captain America shield during combat.

The scene then switches to Chris Evans, who played the titular superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, watching the battle being livestreamed on his phone and spits out his coffee while sputtering, "What the s***?!"

Reynolds previously opened up on how he managed to snag Evans for the brief cameo, telling WIRED magazine recently, "He was in Boston and I texted him. ... And being the complete gentleman and stud that he is, he just got in his car, came down, and we had him in and out in under seven minutes."

"Free Guy," currently the No. 1 movie in the U.S., is exclusively in theaters.

20th Century Studios and Marvel are owned by The Walt Disney Co., the parent company of ABC News.
