NFL player Reid Ferguson may be best known for his work on the field as a long snapper for the Buffalo Bills, but now, he's dropping by "GMA3" to show off his quick and easy recipe for tailgating that will have you and your guests craving more!
Cheesy Barbecue Bacon Chicken
Ingredients
8 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast
Favorite barbecue seasoning, to taste
Cooked bacon
Your favorite barbecue sauce, to taste
1 slice cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
Diced tomatoes, for garnish
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F. Place bacon into oven on baking sheet for approximately 20 minutes, or until it reaches desired crispiness.
Season chicken breasts with barbecue seasoning.
Preheat grill pan, skillet or charcoal grill on high.
Once grill reaches desired temperature, place chicken breasts directly on grill.
Cook chicken until internal temperature reaches 155 F, flipping every 3-4 minutes.
Once bacon is crispy, take it out of the oven and set aside.
Grab your sauce, bacon and cheese.
Baste barbecue sauce onto chicken breast, then add two halves of bacon on each breast, and top bacon with your favorite cheese.
Once everything is assembled, pop your chicken in a medium oven or close grill for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 F.
Once chicken is finished, remove from grill and enjoy.
Pro tip: Sprinkle diced tomatoes for added freshness.
