What's 'dolphin skin'? Dive face first into this glowy makeup highlighting trick
Influencers break down how to get the look of dolphin-like skin.
Some trends come and go, but "dolphin skin" is one that looks like it's here to stay.
Around this time last year, makeup artists and influencers were popping up all over social media showing off super glowy, wet-like, dewy skin -- hence the birth of the term "dolphin skin."
This look is perfect for summer as it gives off a sun-kissed alluring look similar to the aquatic mammal many people have come to love.
Makeup artists such as Mary Phillips, who works with everyone from Hailey Bieber to Jennifer Lopez, have unknowingly been in on the trend for years, and now it's becoming a staple look for many.
Mega beauty influencer Huda Kattan also has demonstrated the viral trend on TikTok, which left her with a gilded, glowing look that over 87,000 people loved.
In a little less than 10 steps, Kattan's dolphin skin look was achieved.
This year, TikTok user Amelia Olivia demonstrated how to get a super chic version of the look in a few quick steps, and using only three products.
See how to get Olivia's look below.
How to get dolphin skin:
Step 1: Apply a generous amount of metallic gold illuminator to the higher portion of your cheekbones, on the temples of your forehead and gently down the bridge of your nose.
Step 2:Add a vibrant pink-toned blush to the apples of your cheeks, and tap it in using your fingertips from your cheek to the upper temples of your forehead.
Step 3: Finish the look with a glowy setting spray.
Olivia's pick: Iconic London Prep Set Glow Hydrating Spray -- available in two radiant tones.
Bonus tip: Add an extra pop to the look by applying a clear glass-like lip gloss to your pout.
