May 28, 2010— -- Fans of Tom Cruise and the Black-Eyed Peas are in for a treat this summer.

The actor and Will.i.am of the Black-Eyed Peas announced today that the band has written a special a song, titled "Someday" for Cruise's upcoming movie "Knight and Day."

"It's just a perfect match, the perfect film for it," Cruise told George Stephanopoulos today on "GMA." "The music is incredible. ... You feel incredible at the end."

Cruise said that he got the idea for the collaboration while watching the Peas perform at the Super Bowl, and invited Will.i.am into the studio to see parts of the film.

"We showed him some scenes, and he just started writing the song right there in the room," Cruise said.

"He just hooked right into the theme of 'Someday,'" Cruise said. "Everybody's got something they're going to do someday."

"Now I have a really good movie to see this summer," Will.i.am said. "It's high-energy, great action, great comedy ... this is right up there with all my favorite Tom Cruise films."

The Black-Eyed Peas premiered "Someday" at the after-party for its concert Thursday in London.

"We played it for our fans; they really took a liking to it and responded to it as if they knew it already," Will.i.am said.

Cruise and wife Katie Holmes attended the concert, and the actor joined the band onstage.

"Fergie gave me a formal invitation to come on stage, and the way she said it was, 'Don't be a wuss,'" Cruise joked.

"He rocked out to 'I've Got a Feeling,'" Will.i.am added. "The crowd loved it."

This might not be the last time the two collaborate.

Cruise showed off his dancing chops in such movies as "Risky Business" and "Tropic Thunder," and when asked if the actor would be appearing in a Black Eyed Peas video in the future, Will.i.am said "that would be pretty awesome, wouldn't it? I think you just spawned an idea."

"He's in my movie, I'll do his video," Cruise joked. "Now I've got to be in your video. It started here."
