Did Robin Roberts Hint at 'Dancing With the Stars' Appearance?
'GMA' anchor said she'd consider 'Dancing' to celebrate her 50th birthday.
Oct. 6, 2010 — -- "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts could strut her stuff on the dance floor on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" in the near future, Roberts hinted today.
During an interview with recently booted "DWTS" contestants Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel this morning, Van Amstel surprised Roberts by asking her when she would take her turn dancing on the show.
"He asked me when I'm going to do the show," Roberts told the audience. "You know, I'm about to turn 50, and I said I wanted a challenge for myself. ... So maybe. Maybe before my 50th."
As the audience erupted in applause, Roberts turned and yelled, "I said maybe!"
Van Amstel said Roberts could dance with him.
"You're such a great personality. I'd love to have you as my partner," he said.
Comedian Margaret Cho, who was eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday night after a heartfelt samba, told Roberts she's proud of her last performance.
"It's a very difficult thing to dance and to present yourself in this way," Cho, 41, said. "What I'm so happy about is we got to have a moment to tell our story and to be ourselves and I'm so proud of that."
It was an emotional exit for Cho, who cried when she and professional partner Van Amstel became the third couple to be voted off "DWTS."
