Rohit Katial, M.D., Consultant for the ABC News OnCall+ Allergy Center

— -- Dr. Rohit Katial is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Allergy & Immunology with specialty certification in Clinical Laboratory Immunology.

He is currently a full-time staff physician and professor in the department of medicine at National Jewish Medical and Research Center and at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He serves in multiple roles: he is the program director for the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program and also the director of the Weinberg Clinical Research Unit. Additionally, he is the vice president of the Colorado Allergy Society.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Katial joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He went on to complete allergy-immunology subspecialty training at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver.

After leaving Denver, he competed an additional year of training in clinical laboratory immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Subsequent to his training, he served as the program director for the Clinical Laboratory Immunology Fellowship at Walter Reed.

Dr. Katial is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Katial has received numerous commendations for his clinical, teaching and research contributions.
