— -- Question: What Can I Do To Prevent Pain Associated With Osteoarthritis?

Answer: Someone once said, "If I had known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of my body." People who treat their body casually, they don't exercise, they don't have proper nutrition, proper sleep, they don't do flexibility exercises or proper weight control, are going to put extra stress, mechanical stress, on their body. Over time, as in anything growing and living, over time, the stress will add up, and you will have pain. So I would recommend people do gradual exercise, something such as swimming or aqua therapy that's non-weight-bearing, is a wonderful overall body conditioner. I would recommend people eat well, avoid obesity if possible, avoid stress, get rest, and just be kind to yourself.
