Jan. 01, 2009 -- Question: Is it possible for a seed to come out in my urine, and what should I do?

Answer: It is possible for a seed to be eliminated in the urine. It happens very infrequently and it usually happens early after the procedure. Some radiation oncologists suggest that the patients strain their urine for the first 48 hours. If it does happen, the seed is generally placed in a jar of water and the patient is instructed to bring it to the doctor's office or to the hospital where the procedure took place.
