Ceiling Collapses During Movie Screening in Philippines; 6 Injured

— -- A ceiling collapsed during a movie screening in the Philippines Monday, sending materials crashing down and injuring six people, officials said.

The accident happened at 8:50 p.m. local time at Ayala Center Cebu, a large shopping mall.

According to the center, an acoustic board drop ceiling fell. Water could be seen pouring from the ceiling before the collapse occurred.

"We regret what happened and we are currently investigating the cause of the incident," Ayala Center Cebu said in a statement. "We assure the public that safety continues to be a priority in the mall."
