Super Harvest Moon Lights Up the Night Sky

Stunning visuals mark the grand finale of summer's super moons.

— -- A "super moon" lit up the sky Monday, the third such occurrence this summer.

The glowing orb could be seen around sunset, providing a beautiful evening backdrop.

People tried to capture photos of the moon, which is also classified as a harvest moon because it falls the closest to this year’s autumnal equinox on Sept. 22.

Stunning views of the moon could be seen across the world.

While it's not yet autumn, the harvest moon earned its place in lunar lore because moon rises several days before and after happen closer to sunset.
