— -- ISIS took responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed at least 33 people and injured more than 100 others in eastern Afghanistan today.

Speaking in Badakhshan province, Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said ISIS took responsibility for the bombing near a bank in Jalalabad, capital of the Nangarhar province, that targeted soldiers and civilians receiving their salaries. At least one other bomb found outside the bank was detonated by police.

"The Taliban didn't claim responsibility. Daesh claimed responsibility for it," he said, using an Arabic acronym for the terror group.

Ghani has warned before that ISIS was starting to establish itself in Afghanistan.

"If we don't stand on the same line united, these people are going to destroy us," he said today.

The Pakistani government, which is working with Afghanistan on counter-terrorism, condemned the attack, calling it "cowardly and indiscriminate" in a statement.

"We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and pray for speedy recovery of the injured," the statement read.
