Israel arrests 44 staffers at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces arrested 44 male staff members from the Kamal Adwan Hospital, leaving behind the hospital director, one male doctor and female staff to care for 200 patients, according to the World Health Organization.

"The situation in northern Gaza is catastrophic. Intensive military operations unfolding around and within healthcare facilities and a critical shortage of medical supplies, compounded by severely limited access, are depriving people of life saving care," the WHO said in a statement Saturday.

"The Health Ministry in Gaza informed us that the siege at Kamal Adwan Hospital has ended, but it came at a heavy cost," the WHO said. "Reports of the hospital facilities and medical supplies being damaged or destroyed during the siege are deplorable."

'Substantial' part of Israeli attack originated from jets outside Iranian airspace, officials say

A "substantial" part of Israel’s attack on Iran originated from jets outside Iranian airspace, two Israeli officials told ABC News.

It remains unclear if Iran will choose to retaliate, one Israeli security official said.

In a statement, The Israel Defense Forces said it had "completed precise and targeted strikes against military targets in a number of areas in Iran,” adding that “the mission was fulfilled” and Israeli aircraft have now “safely returned home."

The strikes were "conducted in response to the attacks by the Iranian regime against the State of Israel and its citizens in recent months," according to the IDF.

There were no reports of Israeli casualties nor damage to Israeli warplanes, an Israeli source with direct knowledge told ABC News.
