— -- A man was shot during a tense police operation at a Brussels tram stop today amid authorities' anti-terror operations throughout the city.

It was not immediately clear why police engaged him, but video of the immediate aftermath obtained by ABC News includes a clip of the man being dragged away by police.

His condition was not immediately clear.

In separate police operations, three people were arrested in the Brussels area this morning and several were detained last night. The intense police crackdown this week follows Tuesday's deadly attacks at the Brussels airport and metro subway. Thirty-one people were killed.
