Police officers attend the funeral for New York City police officer Steven McDonald at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Jan. 13, 2017 in New York. McDonald, who was shot by a 15-year-old boy in Central Park in July of 1986, was paralyzed from the neck down and famously forgave his assailant. Hundreds of uniformed officers lined Fifth Avenue for the service of the officer who died on Tuesday after having a heart attack.
