Australian Man Proposes to Girlfriend in Front of Huge Crocodile
Billy Collett got down on one knee to pop the question to Siobhan Oxley.
— -- One reptile lover proposed to his girlfriend of three years right in front of a 14-foot crocodile.
Billy Collett, the head of reptiles at Australian Reptile Park in Somersby, Australia, popped the question to Siobhan Oxley during a show at the park last week.
"Three years ago next week, I actually met the girl of my dreams, the girl I love more than anything and she has become my life partner," Collett told the audience, before asking Oxley to "jump on in[to]" the enclosure where the crocodile named Elvis was underwater.
Oxley hopped over the gate, scratching her head nervously. Although he told the crowd that Oxley would be helping him feed the croc, he actually had a different plan in mind.
"The last three years have been the best of my life," Collett began, while splashing the water, trying to coax the 14-foot crocodile out of the water and on to dry land.
Then Collett told the reptile: "You stay there." He turned around, with his back toward the crocodile, and took the ring out of his pocket and dropped down to one knee.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you? Will you marry me?" he asked Oxley, who was speechless.
"Is that a yes?" Collett asked before Oxley accepted. He then placed the ring on her finger.
Collett quipped, "That was worse than feeding the crocodile," before continuing with his show.
