Big-Haired Little Boy Earns Internet Fame With Colossal Curls
“His hair is surprisingly light in weight,” his mom said.

That’s probably four-year-old Farouk James’ motto in life.
The tiny Londoner has taken the Internet by storm with nearly 80,000 Instagram followers who adore his charismatic photos of his gigantic, luscious locks.
“He has so much hair when asked how long it took to grow I often answer, ‘I think he was conceived with hair,’” Farouk’s mom, Bonnie, wrote to ABC News. “In fact, when I went in for my 4D scan while pregnant, they couldn’t tell me his sex, only that he had a lot of hair.”
Before this weekend, her curly-haired cutie had only had one hair trim in his life, just before his third birthday. He just got another on March 6, carefully cut by his mother which she captured on video to show her meticulous technique.
“His hair is surprisingly light in weight,” his mom said. “He has high-density hair, however it’s very thin and only heavy when he swims underwater which he will be doing in two weeks in Dubai where he’ll be opening a new shop called Gold Genie.”
Little Farouk is quite often asked if his hair is hot but, “He’s not, in fact,” Bonnie explained. “It’s great because in the UK it’s cold most of the year which means his hair actually helps him keep warm, and in the summer it shades his face from the sun.”
During the week, Farouk’s catholic school requires his hair to be neatly tied back, but he prefers braids, which is “another three hours of work for me,” his mom quipped.
