— -- When a British woman initially placed her wedding gown on eBay two weeks ago, it got little interest from the online shopping community.

But after Samantha Wragg's brother suggested she share the reason why she said was selling her dress -- because her ex-husband was unfaithful during their marriage -- the sale posting went viral, according to Wragg's account on her personal blog.

Wragg paid £2,000 or approximately $2,627 in 2014 for her ivory wedding gown, in a size 6, created by designer "Art Deco," according to her eBay post.

She added to her sale posting that the dress is in "great condition but needs dry cleaning before wearing to get rid of the stench of betrayal."

Wragg also wrote that she plans to use the sale of the dress "to pay for my divorce."

With the additions to the posting, bids for the dress skyrocketed during the online auction. The latest bid is for £65,900 or approximately $86,608.

After some online commenters said Wragg was too harsh on her ex-husband, she took to her personal blog to clarify her message.

Wragg wrote that her ex-husband cheated on her and left her in January. "A lot of people have got the wrong end of the stick and think it’s really bitter," she wrote. "But anyone who knows me knows I’ve got a great sense of humour and it’s very tongue in cheek."

Wragg added, "I wish my ex-husband all the best with everything. Yes, he made a terrible and really hurtful mistake but he’s got to live with that (and without me!) for the rest of his life. I forgive him and I’m very happy now so I hope he is too."
