-- Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and "Good Morning America" is here to help you set your holiday menu.
The nation's top chefs are visiting "GMA" all month long to share their favorite recipes for Thanksgiving dishes ranging from turkey to desserts, side dishes and more.
Emeril Lagasse appeared on "GMA" today with recipes for delicious pies.
Lagasse offered an important tip for making sure the base of the pies, the pie crust, turns out perfectly.
"I even, the night before, measure my flour and put it in a refrigerator or freezer in a zip bag," he said. "The colder the ingredients and the less you work it, the better the crust is going to be. Everything except the salt should be cold."
Lagasse said he also refrigerates the pie crust overnight once it is made.
