Ginger Zee Tries Out the Hottest Gadgets for New Moms

— -- From strollers to baby monitors to diaper warmers to apps on your phone and more, when it comes to gadgets for new moms, the options are endless.

“Good Morning America” meteorologist Ginger Zee, who is herself expecting her first child this month, went to the New York City headquarters of the pregnancy-focused website TheBump.com to test out the latest gadgets.

First up was “My Baby Beats,” a smartphone app that monitors your baby’s heartbeat using your phone’s microphone.

“You can put it up against your belly in the lower abdomen region and once you detect a nice reading, you can press record if you want to record the heartbeat, or you can just listen to it,” TheBump.com’s site director, Julia Wang, said of the $4.99 app.

Next, Wang demonstrated Belly Buds, a $49.95 “sound system for your baby bump.”

“You can play music for your baby,” Wang said. “You can even record some voice messages and let your baby listen to them.”

Zee recorded her own funny message for her unborn son, telling him, “Hi baby boy, it’s your mom. You're going to be the next Harry Styles. It's very exciting. No pressure.”

Wang also showed Zee what is called the “Rolls Royce of strollers,” the $849 4Moms Origami Stroller.

The stroller charges your cellphone, knows the temperature, logs your mileage, has LCD lights and quickly collapses for transporting ease.

“I love this thing,” Zee said after Wang’s demonstration.

Zee also got new mom tips from Jessica Hartshorn, entertainment editor for Parenting magazine, who showed her three products designed to save new moms time and energy.
