Soldier Surprises Daughter at Her Championship Softball Game

— -- One soldier dad hit a home run, surprising his daughter at her championship softball game.
Staff Sgt. Adam Isdale, of Brookfield, Illinois, posed as the pitcher to surprise his daughter Aubree on the field.
"She was completely oblivious," Isdale told ABC affiliate WLS. "My wife did a pretty good job, and a friend of the family did a good job, setting this thing up. Aubree had no idea that I was going to be here today."
He hadn’t been home since February, but made it home from Kuwait just in time for the big game.
“I was just really happy,” little Aubree told the station.
Isdale has served for 12 years all over the Middle East and is currently stationed in Hawaii.
"It is tough, but we all have sacrifices, and that's just one that you have to make sometimes," he said.
Isdale’s mother, Carol, was also surprised and thrilled by her son’s unexpected arrival.
"It's bittersweet when you see that," she said. "He's back in the United States and I always feel like I breathe totally different when he's back on U.S. soil."
The family will be reunited for two weeks before he returns to Hawaii. In about a month, however, the whole happy family is moving to Fort Stewart in Georgia.
As if Isdale’s surprise homecoming wasn’t enough of a treat, Aubree’s team also won the championship game.
